Today's world is one of cheap mass production and mass consumption. Speed, convenience and efficiency are the only priorities, and disposability is the norm. In the midst of such values, urushi products, which are made by a number of craftsmen working separately and taking several months to produce, have unfortunately become far removed from people's daily lives.
In 2016, we, an urushi refiner, started 'Urushi no Ippo' to bring urushi closer to people's daily lives. This initiative became the basis for various activities that later spread and was the starting point for encounters with many friends. This is the first "step" taken by a previously passive urushi shop that has summoned up the courage to take the first step.
